It was pomp, style and glamour as the 2019 edition of Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFA’s) was launched Saturday night with nominations to various categories held at Kingdom Kampala, in the heart of Kampala City.
ASFA’s is Africa’s biggest red carpet annual awards ceremony held to celebrate and acknowledge fashion industry stake holders including fashion designers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, media personalities and influencers on the African Continent and beyond our boarders.
The day started off as early as 11am with the second edition of Fashionpreneur summit following the one that was held last year. The summit was an interactive business workshop which focused on the role of fashion, and the creative Industry in shaping Uganda’s economy.
The event was graced by music celebrities like Eddy Kenzo, Vinka, Pia pounds, and a surprise appearance of Artist Harmonize from Tanzania among others.
Participants received tips on how to promote and fund their projects, market their brands from a panel of business and creative professionals that included Mitchelle Omanteer, Sonia Karamagi, Teddy Ruge, Gloria Wavamunno, Bettina tiana, Miss Uganda Oliver Nakakande, Fatuma Asha, Humphrey Nabimanya among others.
This years ASFA’s will take place on Friday 13th December at the Kampala Serena Hotel, and will have Jidenna As the guest Artiste. Just like the past years we expect maximum pomp, glamour, the lights and camera Actions.
The glamorous awards that are hosted by Fashionista Brian Ahumuza alias ABRYANZ, will this year will run under the theme; “How you can let the star in you shine.” Later in the night, the awards nomination cocktail party was held and several fashionpreneurs, designers, stylists, musicians and other celebrities were nominated under several categories.
However this time round, Four (4) more Awards were added onto the usual 10 category list to recognize special personalities and these awards are; Life time Achievement Award, Positive Change Award, Special Recognition Award, and the Icon of the year Award.
