Two people have been confirmed dead in a plane crash that happened in Bulo, Butambala District.

According to the Ministry of Defense/UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire, the plane – a UPDF Jet Ranger crashed during training exercises, killing 2 crew members on board.

“We regret to inform you that a UPDAF Jet Ranger AF 302 on a training mission has crashed. It had two crew members. Sadly, no one is reported to have survived” Brig. Karemire posted on his social media.

Karemire says investigations into the cause of the crash has commenced. The dead have been identified Major Naomi Karungi who was the pilot instructor together with pilot cadet Bernard Wakalu( trainee).

“We offer our condolences to the family members and entire UPDF fraternity” Brig Gen Richard Karemire added.
