2 patients who were this week admitted at St. Mary’s Lacor Hospital with signs similar to those of COVID-19 died yesterday, according to reports.

According to the management of the hospital, three patients were admitted after referral from neighboring health facilities in a very critical condition and with underlying diseases.

The 3 were put in an isolation ward, but 2 of them have since passed on.

Management says the reason why the 3 were isolated is because the patients met the MOH criteria for COVID-19 suspicion.

Management however says samples have been extracted and sent to Uganda Virus Research Institute to ascertain the facts, dispelling all speculation that the two died due to coronavirus.
