According to a statement released by Next Media on Monday, Kazibwe Bashir and Management have agreed to part as the former attempts a career in active politics.

Kazibwe has been a talk-show host on NBS TV and he is well known for popular shows including “One on One with Tamale Mirundi”, “Ensi N’ebyaayo” and “The Eagle” which used to run on Sunday evenings.

“Although it is with happiness that we say goodbye to Kazibwe, we also encourage those that love to grow in politics to follow their dreams” Next Media Services Chief strategy officer, Joseph Kigozi said.

“We would like to thank Kazibwe for his dedicated services over the years he has been with us and wish him the best in this new challenge” he adds.

Lat year, Kazibwe expressed his intentions to unseat Hon. Mubarak Munyagwa for the Kawempe South seat in parliament. He has already declared he will be running under People Power Movement.

Kazibwe recently resigned on Bukedde Radio where he also had a job as a presenter.

However, reports indicate that Kazibwe may be permanently quitting Next Media, having secured a job at STV owned by SK. Mbuga where he will be hosting Tamale Mirundi in a program similar to one he had on NBS.
