The leadership of opposition in Uganda has today released a list of appointments to the shadow cabinet.
According to the 30 member cabinet, the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) took the lions share with 18 slots followed by Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Independents are two, while Uganda People’s Congress (UPC), Democratic Party (DP) and the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) were given one position each.
Bellow is the list:
1. Hon Nuwagaba Winfred, MP Ndorwa East an Independent has been appointed Attorney General.
2. Hon Shamim Malende, Kampala Woman MP and a member of National Unit Platform NUP has been appointed Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
3. Hon Muwanga Kivumbi Butambala MP from NUP Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
4. Hon Nantongo Fortunate Rose Kyotera and a Democratic Party member is now Gender, Labour and Social Development minister.
5. Hon Katusabe Atins MP for Bukonzo West from Forun for Democratic Change FDC is Public Service minister.
6. Hon Nyeko Derrick, Makindye East MP is the minister for Presidency and Security.
7. Hon Dr Abed Bwanika, Kimanya Kabonera MP from NUP is the minister for Agriculture.
8. Hon Nabukenya Brenda, Luwero Woman MP from NUP is the minister for Education.
9. Hon Odur Jonathan, Erute East from Uganda Peoples Congress is Minister for Defense and Veteran Affairs.
10. Hon Kiwanuka Abdullah Mukono North MP is the Internal Affairs Minister.
11. Hon Dr Batuwa Timoth Lusala, Jinja City West from FDC is the new Health Minister.
12. Hon Nsibambi Yusuf an FDC member and Mawokota South MP is the Minister for Works and Transport.
13. Hon Hon Kawalya Abubaker, Lubaga North MP from NUP is the minister for Kampala City Authority.
14. Hon Nkunyingi Muwada, Kyadondo East from NUP is the Foreign Affairs minister.
15. Hon Balimwezo Ronald, MP Nakawa East from NUP is the minister for Lands, Housing and National Development.
16. Hon Nyakato Asinansi, Hoima City Woman MP is in charge of Minerals and Energy.
17. Hon Masba Karem MP Mbale Industrial Division an independent will oversee the Tourism and Wildlife ministry.
18. Hon Kabuye Frank, Kassanda South MP from NUP is the Children and Youth Affairs minister.
19. Hon. Mwijuke Francis an FDC member and Buhweju MP is the Trade and Industry minister.
20. Hon Naluyima Betty, Wakiso Woman MP and from NUP is in charge of Local Governments.
21. Hon Nabukeera Hanifa Mukono Woman MP from NUP is in charge of Human Rights.
22. Hon Kaaya Christine Nakimwero, Kiboga Woman MP is the new minister for Water and Environment.
23. Hon Nammuga Goreth MP for Mawogola County is minister for Science, Innovations and Technology.
24. Hon Hiraly Kiyaga, Mawokota North MP from NUP is minister for Culture and Preforming Arts.
25. Hon Anne Adeke Ebaju, Soroti Woman MP from FDC is the minister for Cooperatives and Microfinance.
26. Hon Bagala Joyce Mityana Woman MP is the minister for Information and Anti-corruption.
27. Hon Okot Santa, Arru North Mp from Progressive Progressive Party is minister for special regions.
28. Hon Oulanyah Gilbert, Kilak South from FDC is East African Community Affairs minister.
29. Hon Tebandeke Charles, Bbaale MP from NUP is Animal Industry and Fisheries minister.
30. Hon Kayembe Geofrey Solo, Bukomansimbi South MP from NUP is minister for Sports.
These will be led in parliament by Hon Mathias Mpuuga Leader of opposition and Hon John Baptist Nambeshe who is the opposition Chief Whip.
Among those dropped from the previous shadow cabinet include Hon Bakireke Nambooze, Hon Allan Sewanyana, Hon Semujju Nganda, and Hon Betty Aol Achan who has been the Leader of Opposition.
