Former first lady of Uganda, Kasalina Zawedde Muwanga -wife to the Late Paulo Muwanga, is dead.
Her death was confirmed by the speaker of Parliament Anita Among during the afternoon plenary session on Tuesday.
“I have been informed of the demise of the former first lady, Nnalongo Kasalina Zawedde Muwanga, widow of the 6th President of Uganda, the late Paulo Muwanga. On behalf of Parliament and on my own behalf, I relay our condolences to the bereaved family and all loved ones. May her soul rest in eternal peace.” Speaker Anita Among said.
Sources close to the family indicate that Mrs. Muwanga passed away yesterday at Nakasero Hospital where has been hospitalized for some time.
The last time the deceased appeared in the media was in July 2020 when President Yoweri Museveni paid a visit to their family home in Kololo.
Paulo Frobisher Muwanga Seddugge Muyanja, commonly known as Paulo Muwanga, was Uganda’s sixth president who also served as prime minister of Uganda.
