Kampala, Uganda: APRIL 19, 2025- In his Easter message to the nation, President Yoweri Museveni called upon Ugandans to focus on both spiritual development and hard work, emphasizing the importance of a balanced life for personal and national prosperity.
The President’s message, delivered on the occasion of Easter Sunday, began with greetings and congratulations to Ugandans for observing the 40 days of Lent, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. He commended the security forces for ensuring peaceful processions during the holy period.
However, Museveni acknowledged the significance of spiritual nourishment, stating, “Spirituality is one of the fundamental human needs.” He stressed the freedom of Ugandans to develop their spirituality, cultivate the fear of God, and guard against evil deeds like murder, corruption, and lying.
But, the President also highlighted the importance of addressing physical needs, listing food, clothing, shelter, medicine, defense, infrastructure, health, and education as crucial components of a fulfilling life.
He specifically emphasized the role of hard work in four key sectors – commercial agriculture, industries, services, and ICT – as the “correct formula for building prosperous and strong families.” Museveni urged Ugandans to dedicate themselves to these sectors, believing they are the engines for job creation and wealth generation.
This message, delivered against the backdrop of Easter celebrations, underscores the President’s vision for a holistic approach to development. He advocates for a nation that is not only spiritually grounded but also economically productive. The message serves as a call to action, urging Ugandans to embrace both faith and hard work to build a better future for themselves and the country.
