The Uganda Law Society (ULS) reported the passing away of the late Kakooza John Baptist (husband to Justice Irene Mulyagonja) a veteran advocate and Human Rights champion who passed away on Saturday.
The Late John Baptist Kakooza was the husband to former Inspector General of Government (IGG), Justice Irene Mulyagonja, with whom they are parents of three children.
He is the founder of law firm: John B. Kakooza Advocates and Commissioner of Aoths, and he will be remembered for speaking boldly for judicial independence in Uganda but also spoke against proposal to scrap the bail rights.
John baptist Kakooza was former Corporation Secretary of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) but he also serves as Acting Secretary General of the Democratic Party (DP).
Burial Program:
1. Tuesday, vigil at home in Nsambya;
2. Wedsday 9:00 am, mass at Lubaga Cathedral.
3. Thursday, BURIAL in Kalungu.
