Nomination forms for District, Municipal, and Sub-County councillors can be collected from the District/City Electoral Commission Office starting Monday, August 11, 2025. Forms for District Chairpersons will be available for download from the Electoral Commission website (www.ec.or.ug) on the same date.
Parliamentary and Presidential Elections:
The nomination period for Parliamentary Elections has also been adjusted. The new dates are Wednesday, October 15, 2025, and Thursday, October 16, 2025, and the nominations will be held at the office of the respective District/City Returning Officer. For Presidential Elections, the collection of nomination forms, supporter forms, and guidelines will occur from Monday, August 11, 2025, to Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Presidential aspirants must collect these documents in person at the Electoral Commission Head Offices in Kampala. This physical collection is intended to allow the Commission to identify and document aspirants and to notify relevant authorities across the country to provide necessary support. Aspirants for independent candidacies must show proof of voter registration, while those representing a political party must present a written authorization from the party’s Secretary General or a designated official.
The Electoral Commission’s statement also thanked stakeholders and special interest groups for their participation in the ongoing electoral program. A soft copy of the full roadmap is accessible on the Electoral Commission’s website.
