Deadly Road Crash Claims Three Lives in Buikwe District

Nkokonjeru, Uganda: August 17, 2025 – A tragic road accident near Nkokonjeru Center in Buikwe District has left three people dead, according to a statement released by the Kampala Metropolitan Police. The crash occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 9:40 PM on the Kisoga-Nkokonjeru Road.

The victims have been identified as Olaki Samson, a passenger on the bus, and Nasali Emily and Carol, both passengers in a Toyota Sienta.

According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the incident began when a bus, registration number UAL 770L, traveling from Kisoga to Nkokonjeru, collided with a parked Canter truck (UAG 723G). After the initial impact, the bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve into the path of an oncoming Toyota Sienta (UBK 901Z) that was heading toward Kisoga. The head-on collision resulted in the immediate deaths of the three individuals.

Police have attributed the cause of the accident to an obstacle on the road.
A team from the Mukono Police Division has visited the scene, where they created a rough sketch of the crash site and had the involved vehicles towed to the Kisoga police yard. The bodies of the deceased were transported to Kawolo Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

Authorities state that the drivers of the vehicles involved in the crash are currently at large, and a full investigation is underway.
