KAMPALA, UGANDA: 27 October, 2026 – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Mr. Lino Anguzu as Director of Public Prosecutions. This comes after the President appointed Hon. Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo as Principal Judge.
Mr. Lino Anguzu has been an Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the International Crimes Department in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). The President has forwarded Mr. Lino Anguzu’s name to Parliament for vetting. Congratulations to Mr. Lino Anguzu for the appointment.
Hon Abodo was in August this year elevated, filling the position left vacant after the Principal Judge (then,) Justice Flavian Zeija’s elevation to Deputy Chief Justice.
Justice Zeija was appointed Deputy Chief Justice earlier this year, succeeding Justice Richard Buteera, who retired in April 2025 upon clocking the mandatory retirement age of 70.
