KAMPALA – October 28, 2025 — The Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) has initiated a homicide investigation into the death of a 25-year-old woman, identified as Nalubwama Caroline, who allegedly sustained fatal injuries while at the home of prominent socialite Bryan Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for KMP, confirmed the investigation in a press statement released Tuesday, stating that the territorial Police at Katwe are “actively investigating the circumstances” surrounding Ms. Nalubwama’s death.
The incident is reported to have occurred at the residence of Mr. Kirumira, located in Kyamula, Makindye Division. According to preliminary information from the Police, Ms. Nalubwama was rushed from the premises to Kiruddu Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Suspect Receiving Medical Treatment
In a critical development, the statement noted that the resident, Mr. Bryan Kirumira, who is being treated as the suspect in the alleged incident, also sustained injuries in the incident likely to be a case of domestic violence.
”The suspect, who also reportedly sustained injuries during the alleged incident, is currently receiving medical treatment and has recorded a statement to assist in the investigations,” ASP Owoyesigyire stated.
The nature and extent of the injuries sustained by both the deceased and the suspect were not immediately disclosed by the authorities. Mr. Kirumira is known in the city as a socialite and philanthropist who has previously been involved in high-profile legal matters, including an attempted murder charge in 2017.
Evidence Recovery and Post-Mortem Underway
A team of detectives and forensic officers visited the crime scene in Kyamula shortly after the incident was reported. Police confirmed the scene was thoroughly examined and documented, with “relevant exhibits” recovered to aid in establishing the sequence of events.
The body of the deceased has been transported to the City Mortuary at Mulago, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted to determine the exact cause and manner of Ms. Nalubwama’s death.
Police have also announced efforts to retrieve available CCTV footage and conduct further interviews with additional witnesses as they work to piece together the full and “actual sequence of events.”
The KMP has promised to provide updates on the matter as “substantial progress is made” in the ongoing investigation.
