KAMPALA, UGANDA 16 MARCH 2026— A tragedy struck early Monday morning after a fatal crash at the Impala Interchange on the Entebbe Expressway at approximately 6:30 a.m, claimed the lives of three people instantly,
According to a statement released by SP Kananura Michael, the Public Relations Officer for the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety, the vehicle involved was a Toyota Land Cruiser (UBG 734S) belonging to Ssenyonjo Bosco, a businessman and resident of Masaka.
Preliminary reports suggest that Bosco was traveling toward Entebbe with his family when he lost control of the vehicle. Traffic police have attributed the cause of the crash to excessive speeding.
The sequence of the crash was particularly violent:
The vehicle first struck the base of a street light pole. It then collided with a road pillar. The impact caused the Land Cruiser to overturn several times before coming to a rest.
While three occupants died at the scene, two other passengers survived with severe injuries. Traffic Police arrived shortly after the incident to coordinate a rescue mission.
